How it works

SwalaSMS sits between your business systems and your SMS providers, so applications use one stable API while administrators control senders, routing, security and delivery operations centrally.

  1. Connect your applications

Core banking, mobile apps, portals and internal systems connect through the SwalaSMS API using governed application credentials.

  2. Control who can send

Assign sender IDs, scopes, roles, rate limits and approval rules so each application and team operates within clear boundaries.

  3. Use the providers that fit your organization

Connect any provider supported by the platform, define routing and failover policies, or use SwalaSMS Gateway when it suits your setup.

  4. See what happened end to end

Follow message submission, provider attempts, delivery updates, request correlation and audit events from one operational view.

One integration. Your control.

Provider routing

Connect supported providers, monitor health and configure routing without changing the applications that call SwalaSMS.

  • Provider-independent API
  • Routing policies
  • Health
  • Safe failover

Governance and security

Use role-based access, MFA, Maker-Checker approvals and audit trails for sensitive messaging operations.

  • RBAC

SwalaSMS Gateway is recommended in both deployment models.

Provider freedom

Connect the providers you already use, or use SwalaSMS Gateway when it fits your setup.

Connect supported provider accounts inside SwalaSMS Enterprise and control routing centrally. Applications keep calling the same SwalaSMS API.

  • One application contract

Applications use the SwalaSMS API instead of embedding provider-specific logic.

  • Customer-controlled routing

Administrators decide which connected providers are eligible and how traffic is routed.

  • SwalaSMS Gateway is recommended

Use it where it adds value, or operate entirely through your own supported provider connections.

FAQ

A few practical answers about deployment, provider choice and integration.

Do we have to use SwalaSMS as our SMS provider?

No. SwalaSMS Enterprise is provider-independent. Your organization can connect any SMS provider already supported by the platform, use the SwalaSMS Gateway, or configure more than one route. SwalaSMS Gateway is recommended in both deployment models. You can also use your own supported provider connections.

What is the difference between Enterprise Cloud and Self-Hosted?

Enterprise Cloud is operated by SwalaSMS and accessed through your organization’s custom domain. Self-Hosted Enterprise runs in infrastructure controlled by your organization. Both use the same core messaging platform and provider-independent API.

Can we run SwalaSMS Enterprise in our own data centre or cloud account?

Yes. Self-Hosted Enterprise is designed for customer-controlled environments, including on-premises infrastructure, private cloud and customer-owned public-cloud accounts.

Will our applications need to change when we switch SMS providers?

Normally, no. Applications integrate with the SwalaSMS API. Provider connections and routing are managed inside the platform, so a compatible upstream provider can be changed without rewriting the application integration.

Show all 10 questionsShow fewer questions
Does Enterprise Cloud use our own domain?

Yes. Enterprise Cloud tenants use a verified customer-controlled domain. The central Customer Portal remains available for onboarding, support and account management.

Can different internal applications have separate credentials and permissions?

Yes. Applications are first-class identities with their own credentials, scopes, rate limits and access policies. This keeps integrations separate and easier to audit.

Does the platform support approvals and audit trails?

Yes. SwalaSMS Enterprise includes role-based access, MFA, Maker-Checker workflows and audit records for controlled enterprise operations.

Can we test before sending production traffic?

Yes. The Developer Platform includes a Sandbox workflow for integration testing. In Enterprise Cloud, production sending remains blocked until the tenant passes its go-live readiness checks.

How is Self-Hosted Enterprise updated?

Self-Hosted releases are distributed as signed, versioned release artifacts with checksums, release notes and upgrade guidance. Customer environments do not need to pull application source code to update.

Can SwalaSMS support our existing provider account?

If that provider is already integrated into the platform, your organization can configure its own provider connection and credentials. New provider integrations can be discussed as part of the enterprise engagement.
